Reaching Gibraltar Point from the Airport

 Hello :) 

Quick guide on how to reach to the residency (Gibraltar Point) from Airport.

3 steps to the process:
(don't worry, it's quite simple actually! 😁 Divided in steps just to make it easier)

1. Airport to Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, (UP express or Cab)
2. Ferry Terminal to Hanlan's Point and, (Ferry or swimming!)
3. Hanlan's point to Gibraltar Point (Walking or Car)

Part 1: From YYZ to Jack Layton Ferry Terminal

If you are using maps on your phone - you can put "Jack Layton Ferry Terminal" as your destination. If you are travelling solo we recommend you take the Union Pearson (UP) express. It’s faster and cheaper than cab or share rides.  If two or three of you arrive at the same time, depending on time of day and amount of luggage you may want to take a taxi or share ride but the UP is usually the best bet and it gets you close to where we’re staying. 

Option 1 UP Express: From YYZ you can get UP express. This should be near "Pearson Airport Terminal 1 Station". (you can also just follow the signs or ask someone where to get UP express from, and they should be able to point you in the right direction). UP express will get you to the Union Station. This is 3 stops away and will take about 25 minutes. Once at Union, it's a short walk to Jack Layton Ferry Terminal.

Option 2 Cab: If you have other participants with you, it might be easier to get a cab or Uber to Jack Layton Ferry. (For uber, once you exit the luggage carousel area, turn right and take the escalator down a level. You will see Door Q and you can call your Uber from there. Usually, three- or four-minute pickup wait.) I am going to post the the list of participants who would be arriving at the YYZ at the same time below.

If you are at YTZ (Billy-Bishop) airport: You can take streetcar 509 from "Queens Quay West at Bathurst St East side" station to Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. It should take about 10 minutes. You will find the 509 streetcar station just outside the YTZ airport. 

Part 2: Jack Layton Ferry to Hanlan's Point

From Jack Layton, you can catch a Ferry to "Hanlan's point". We will be emailing you the Ferry tickets on the day of your arrival, so you don't have to stand in ticket line :) 

Part 3: From Hanlan's Point to Gibraltar Point (Residency).

This is a 2km walk. We are planning to arrange for a car ride for this, as all of you will have luggage to carry as well. (The cars are banned on the island :) So we will have to make an arrangement for the ride with the Residency managers). 

There are currently two pickup rides arranged from the Hanlan's point to the residency. One is at 2:30 PM and the other is at 8:30 PM.
